《夏季運動會2009》是系列體育遊戲《夏季運動會》的最新續作，該系列作品以夏季體育
賽事的金牌戰為主旨，包含短跑、標槍、射擊、跳高、游泳、自行車等夏季運動項目，最
新作可供玩家挑戰的運動項目已增加到28個種類。

遊戲分為爭取個人優勝的職業生涯模式，與朋友對戰的分屏模式或是多人遊戲模式等等，
完成規定的特殊任務解鎖成就以及創作自己的賽事。玩家可以從三個難度等級選擇建立一
場單一賽事或角逐，從而確定AI對手的實力。不過，在遊戲中還可以解鎖第四個名曰「冠
軍」的難度等級，具有極難應付的AI對手，在此玩家所面臨的挑戰將異常艱難。
